DAY 2

The 2026 Good Hope Easter Tournament concluded in thrilling fashion as the Mighty Reds edged past Kalawa United to claim the championship title.
The final, played before an enthusiastic community crowd, was a spectacle of determination and skill. Kalawa United struck first in the opening half, scoring a well-crafted goal that gave them the early advantage. For much of the match, it appeared they would hold on to victory.
However, the second half brought drama. The Mighty Reds were awarded a penalty, which they converted to level the score at 1–1. With neither side able to break the deadlock in regulation time, the contest went to penalties. The Reds held their nerve, winning the shootout and etching their name into the tournament’s history as champions.
Kalawa United, valiant in defeat, finished as runners-up. The third-place result was not immediately available at the time of reporting.
Beyond the scoreline, the match was a celebration of community spirit. Supporters rallied behind both teams, creating an atmosphere that underscored the importance of local football in inspiring and motivating players. Every ounce of effort was left on the field, a testament to the passion and pride that defines the game.
As the Mighty Reds lifted the trophy, the Good Hope Easter Tournament once again proved itself as a cornerstone of community sport bringing people together, showcasing talent, and reminding us why football remains the beautiful game.
